Associate Managing Director

The Robot Planet, LLC, produces a transmedia project entitled The Intergalactic Nemesis, which currently takes the form of radio dramas, a graphic novel series, and a live theatrical production. The Robot Planet is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual with great communication skills, a bookkeeping and/or budgeting background, willingness to learn whatever is needed to get the job done, and a desire to grow quickly with a fast-moving arts organization. The 3/4-time position will have a limited number of office hours and will be expected to also work from home. The Associate Managing Director will report directly to Jason Neulander, project creator and director, and will work closely with the touring Company Manager. We are looking for applicants whose ambition is to become a managing director of a broad-ranging arts-based company.

Job duties include:

 

  • Bookkeeping
  • Payroll
  • Contract management
  • Travel planning (in coordination with the Company Manager)
  • Marketing and social media for the touring theatrical production
  • Merchandise inventory management
  • Communication with the venues to which the show tours

 

Must have superb organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple projects with planned deadlines with little direct supervision. Experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Office is a must. This part-time position will likely grow quickly over the next two years. Candidates should expect to move to Austin, Texas, where the company is based should they get the job.

Salary: $25,000
